Izumo Daijingū
Clean water from Mikage Mountain flows into the famous well of this shrine.

“Today, we’re visiting Izumo Daijingu Shrine in Kameoka, Kyoto. It’s often called the ‘Original Izumo’ and is a very historic place.”

“‘Original Izumo’? Does that mean it’s even older than Izumo Taisha?”

“Exactly. It’s said to have been founded before the Common Era. The enshrined deities are Ōkuninushi-no-Mikoto and Mihotsuhime-no-Mikoto. It’s especially known for bringing good relationships.”
🟪Otoha:
“The shrine grounds feel so peaceful. It really does feel like a power spot. The Iwakura—that sacred rock at the back—felt especially mystical.”

“The Iwakura is believed to be a place where the gods descended in ancient times. Some people say they can still feel strong spiritual energy there.”
🟪Otoha:
“The weeping cherry blossoms were beautiful too, and the sacred spring called Mana-i no mizu felt so pure and calming.”

“This shrine isn’t just about history—its natural beauty and purity are part of its charm. It’s a perfect place to reset your mind and spirit.”

“I’d love to come again in another season. I bet the fall colors here are amazing.”
